Suzuki RV 90 J 1972 Frame
« le: Mercredi 23/06/2010 11:19:55 »
Hello,

I´m sorry I don´t speak French. I do speak Dutch, English and German.
A week ago I bought a Suzuki RV 90 in Holland, and I want to overhaul it.
But i have the wrong Frame. So now I am looking for a Suzuki RV 90 J Frame from 1972.
Can someone help me with that?

With kind regards,

Rico

Hi Rico and welcome.

Unfortunately, J frames are quite seldom in France: in 1972, Suzuki imported two of those bikes, most probabily to discuss conformity with French Authorities prior thinking massive sales.

Indeed, some of us brought some J from the US and Canada, but you can count them on a leper's hand fingers... I would be very surprised you would have to do anything on such a bike, she looks better than new... I can only note the seat cover is not "stock", for the rest, the machine is superb, congratulations.

You can trace VIN here:

What is exactly the problem with your frame????

Cheers,

Hey,

I have 2 RV90 from 1975.

http://img526.imageshack.us/i/cimg0027r.jpg/

But I want to rebuild one of them to a RV90 J Suzuki, so I need another frame.
That´s why I´m looking for another Frame.

The Green bike is my ECORIDER from Scottland. Its a bike that runs on Diesel with a 230cc Hatz motor.

Hi,
in fact, plenty parts are different. Pass me a mail, I'll send you the Spare parts catalog, you will see numerous different parts. The geometry of the frame is even different. Compared to a 1975 model, the 1972 frame has a shallower angled fork.
To convert a 1975 machine in a 1972 machine would be comaparble as trying to fit doors and parts from a new VW Golf to an original 1984 type one VW Golf... Both share the name, not a lot more.

Pass me a mail with a direct web mail adress, I'll forward you the doc.

Hey,

I just find a RV90 J, 100 kilometers away from me. But the owner says that the motor isn´t running.
So now my question: are all Suzuki RV90 motors the same?

Because if all RV90 motors are the same, I could exchange the ( my own running RV90 ) motor with the RV90J motor.

Is this possible?

Thanks,

Rico

Hi Rico , the engine is the same , same fittment , but unfortunally the ignition is different, you could make a swap for ignition to have the correct connection with electrical harness, Bye Rv100

...and it will be easier to swap engines than to swap frames...

Model J DNA is very easy to trace: they are the very  only onrs to have the scew on top to keep the central beam guard.
Other main specifics: blue plastic covers on sides and mud guards, sealed headlamp, horse-shoe shaped, specific fuel/oil tanks, serial N° from 10001 to 36501.
